Outside a fast food outlet in Seaham's retail area is the sculpture "Then Gone (George)" by Ray Lonsdale. This sculpture was created at the request of the cafe owner and commemorates Seaham's mining past. Seen with the sun shining on the miner's face, this is a powerful and moving work.
