On Sunderland's Sculpture Trail is this work by Ray Lonsdale, - "Launch Day". The old man is saying to the little girl "I wish you could have seen it, lass .... " as he decsribes the launch of a newly contructed ship on the Wear. This sculpture was unveiled in March 2025.
