The route from the Broompark Picnic Area to Langley Park follows the Lanchester Valley Railway Path. This was originally a railway track from Consett, principally used for moving coal but also used for passengers. Nowadays a pleasant muti-user route for pedestrians, cyclists, horses, dog walkers and mobility vehicles.
