The one bit of sunshine that we had today was as we passeed the site of Brandon Colliery. The colliery closed in 1960. An information board was at this spot but was highly vandalised. An Ordnance Survey map of 1895 shows the location of the colliery, and associated sidings which are now a cricket pitch.
