A walk starting from Square Corner - a car parking area South East of Osmotherley on the North York Moors.
Car parking in Osmotherley itself can be difficult, as can car parking at Sheep wah (near the Cod Beck Reservoir).
The walk follows well defined paths.
The descent into Oak Dale is steep in parts, and can be slippery in wet or icy weather.

Start from the car park at Square Corner.
Take the Cleveland Way footpath down to Oak Dale. Continue to the minor road at Woodside Farm.
Continue on the Cleveland Way to Whitehouse Farm and Osmotherley.
In Osmotherley, turn right up the main road. Continue until you find a paved track on your right.
Follow the track until you come to the footpath that takes you to the ruins of Cote Garth.
Here turn left to reach the Cod Beck Reservoir.
Follow the footpath round the East bank of the Reservoir, then cross over to take the footpath down the West bank of the reservoir.
Cross the dam and now follow the track Eastwards to High Lane.
In High Lane, turn right and continue along the track and then road to return to Square Corner.
