There used to be a railway that connected the East Coast railway with the Settle to Carlisle railway line. This railway now only exists between Northallerton and Redmire. Although there are regular proposals to restore the rest of the railway to being tourist traffic to Wensleydale, nothing seems to be happening. The above view is of the track bed at Aysgarth Falls.
