Explorer Map 300, - Howardian Hills and Malton

This walk utilises sections of the Centenary Way and Ebor Way, as well as assorted farm footpaths and tracks.
Although navigation is reasonably straightforward, we found that the quality of waymarks and signs was somewhat variable, so that there are sections where it is essential to have the use of a 1 : 25000 OS map.
There are a couple of gradients which require some effort, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The only things which DID require some agility were a couple of stiles which were VERY substandard.
The walk is through some superb agricultural land, with some wonderful views.
The church in Sheriff Hutton is especially worth visiting.

Some new mapping software is now available which you may want to try, - QUO mapping. You can download the software for free from the link below, complete with demonstration maps. Having installed QUO, you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus YOU DON'T NEED Memory Map to use any of the overlays provided on the Grey Panthers web site, - just use QUO!!
