In St. Nicholas' Church, Husthwaite, you can find one of the 462 Battlefield Crosses from the First World War. This particular cross marked the original grave of Sapper William Easton who died on 11 May 1918. Considering that these crosses are relatively unique, it seems sad that this one has been hidden in a corner behind a stack of chairs.
