A gentle walk starting out from Romaldkirk village centre, and taking in the South bank of the River Tees on the way to Cotherstone.
The walk returns from Cotherstone to Romaldkirk by the path to High Shipley Farm and then down to the River Tees by Eggleston Bridge.
Both legs of the walk utilise the Teesdale Way.
In wet weather, the walk along the River Tees between Romaldkirk and Cotherstone can be somewhat wet and slippery.


Start from the Romaldkirk village centre, NY9955322089.
Take the lane out of the village that starts near the Kirk Inn, and follow the footpath signs to the ruins of Low Garth Farm.
From here take the footpath down to the River Tees, and follow the path all the way to Woden Croft Farm. Continue along the marked path to Cotherstone.
Cross the River Tees by the footbridge, and then strike in a North Easterly direction to follow the marked footpath to High Shipley Farm.
From here, follow the path to Low Barnley Farm.
From Low Barnley, follow the waymarked path to Eggleston Bridge where you cross the River Tees to return to Roamldkirk.
